I PMed Kae two week ago and she told me everything was going to be alright.

Futhermore, this domain was not even registered back in 2011, so I think you are making a mistake...

Indeed, I'm excited for this ^^ It'll be interesting to see a new site-creation host launched (as I was not around when MA launched). Super excited for this, I really hope it turns out well.

Haha, yeah, the 2012 was a typo XD Besides, if you look Here you'll notice it looks just a little better (Which is the link she has in her siggy in Myadopts).

I contacted Kae a little bit ago about the opening date and she told me that things have slowed down a little bit since right now it's just her working on it (she's been working with another programmer) but she still expects it to enter Beta sometime in March, though I expect it may be later rather than sooner as the staff still haven't gone through training.

I am very much looking forward to CA's opening. c:
Though I'm not great at art and stuff, and since MA is shutting down I won't really be able to practise much over there, but CA will hopefully give me a good opportunity to.
I don't mind if it takes a long time, as long as it opens eventually.

I was wondering about this as well, but now I'm quite relieved! Thanks for the updates, guys, I can't wait for CA to open!

However, I don't like how you either have to obtain site popularity to unlock different features, or you have to pay if you "want it now". x) But that's just me. I'll probably still check it out anyway. c:

Although I kinda remember seeing something about being able to rent your own server space, so I really like that idea. x) It would make me a little uncomfortable to have my server space on a new website though..hehe. |D

Lol, anyway hey guys I wanted to give you an update.

I have had mono for the past month now, and for anyone(pero) who has had mono before you understand that it basically makes you EXTREMELY tired for about 6-8 weeks. I still have to go to class so any time I'm not in class or doing homework I am sleeping. THAT SAID. I am still planning on opening CA, but I thought the next best release date would be beginning of June. Reason is I have finals in May, and need time to get my grades back together after this mono crap.

So look forward to June being the release date for EVERYONE. As far as staff... I'll keep you updated.


@Pear - Popularity doesn't decide what features can be unlocked, that would be unfair I think. The system is set up using an algorithm I designed to take into account the number of members as well as the percentage of active members, number of updates, number of referrals, etc. to determine the amount of weekly revenue your site makes in points. Points are then used to purchase new features, expand old features or use in events and contests. But sites can earn points via donations from users as well, and you as an admin would be able to give your points to your own site. There are TONS of ways to earn points as a user as well, from posting in the forums, to creating guides, CSS, images, winning contests, and of course donating real currency to help support the site. So there are a lot of options for every type of user. The reason I chose to limit features the way that I did was because it forces admins to make decisions about what is more important and what should come first, and gives something for admins to work for. It also causes more variety among the sites since each site could choose a different combination of features to start off with. The third and final reason I liked this system is because it prevents the server from becoming overloaded too quickly with a ton of heavy features on every site, so it'll help with lag and such.

@Pear - No worries, the system has had MANY modifications since it's first inception several years ago. So there could be some outdated information floating around the internet somewhere.

This is so exciting ^-^ I'm looking to move two of my MA sites to CA, so I'll be spending the next few months working on getting my resources together. It's nice to have a release date now, so I can plan ahead for when the site is released.
