What is it? I wanna learn. I wanna create a sim and all, but what is MySidia's point?

Mysidia is a script that came from the Myadopts one. c:
BMR sold it and went off to make Myadopts, while HoF develops what is now Mysidia. Or something like that.
It's like Myadopts but with more features, but it's a lot more complex since you need to install and host it yourself. Knowing some PHP and mySQL would be very helpful, but it's quite easy to pick up and make a basic site with the default features when you've got it all installed and found a decent host and stuff.

Yeah you won't be able to do that (easily/cheaply/quickly) with Mysidia. It's more of a click thing like Myadopts.
Unless you have some omgamazing coder and artist friends you'll need to spend ~a lot~ of money to make that happen. :c

Don't want to put you down or anything, but it's REALLY hard not only to build the site, but also to maintain it.


I barely manage to understand where and how to put the files on the server, which is supposed to be easy.

You should really keep gathering experience by looking around more sites, talk with their makers and such. Frequent a lot of petsite forums. It'll help.

ALSO, try some tutorial/lessons for coding and such. At least the base.

Yeah in fact I am stalking MYSidia. Looking through tut and all. I can't undrstand nothing, though xD it is difficult.

You'll need to know more than just understand how to install it. You'll need to know how to modify scripts, fix bugs etc. if you want to make your site work.
And, there's a lot of other sites out there so it'll be tough competition :O

Yup, I'm trying to learn Mysidia now. I got to the PHP upload part, but FileZilla doesn't seem to want to connect to mah webhost site.

Deers and fawns, you say? I was just writing a story about a fawn. And I have a fawn sprite I made two days ago, though if I've guessed correctly you're going for linearts. But let me know if you want help. I'm good at drawing in members and managing support C:

Many security loopholes and broken features.

Futhermore, it is not really recommended for beginners...

Still, it'll be good experience to learn to use Mysidia, because you never know...

I'm not a fan of CA because it's not YOUR own site.

I like working with Mysidia because, well, it's the only current premade script out there that I know of, and it helps me learn and lets me really customize my site. But unless you have at least a basic understanding for how to work it, it'll be challenging.

I've been wanting to try Mysidia but it seems too complicated for me...I mean, well, I haven't actually tried it yet. I'll maybe try this summer.

I've tried Mysidia before, and I got sort of far (not really) but I give up far too easily.
If I ever improve my knowledge of coding, I will definitely try again.

If you want to make your own petsite you might want to get involved in VPL's community, as I'm sure you'll be able to find help there. It's a nice forum and it's pretty much the hub for petsite creators.

For now I must create the site and start putting A proper & unique CSS/theme. After I will look for coders. Ad artists.

I really do not know where to create my community. I used to do sites on FatCow but it costs a bit too much and it does not permit more than ?? MG. Anyway after 30 codes, you can't more put codes.
